Fractional CO² Laser - Fraxel®

Fractional Therapy CO² Laser

QuadraLASE™ is a fractional CO² laser system treatment that can gently and effectively rejuvenate targeted areas of the skin and help patients achieve a younger and fresher look. Using tiny dots of laser light in pre-determined patterns, QuadraLASE can treat deep layers of the face, neck and chest with minimal damage to the skin surface.

With the QuadraLASE treatment, patients can experience dramatic improvement in:

  • Skin tone & texture
  • Sun damage skin
  • Fine lines & wrinkles
  • Post-traumatic scars
  • Acne scars
  • Age spots

Fractional Therapy CO2 Laser | Fraxel | Upland | Rancho CucamongaThe QuadraLASE procedure is ideal for patients over the age of 30 seeking to improve the appearance of skin damage caused by sun exposure, aging, wrinkles, fine lines, acne scarring and other unwanted imperfections. Many patients choose this treatment for its significant results without long downtimes often required with other types of resurfacing procedures.

During the QuadraLASE treatment, patients will sit or lie on a table and wear protective eyewear as the device is moved over the targeted area. Local anesthetic will be applied prior to treatment, with each session completely customized for the patient's individual skin needs and aesthetic goals. There may be some mild discomfort during the procedure, but most patients are able to tolerate QuadraLASE treatments.

After the QuadraLASE procedure, patients will likely experience a sensation on the skin similar to that of a sunburn, which will last for several hours. Some pinkness and swelling may persist for up to two weeks, with the skin peeling as well in a natural exfoliation process. Moisturizing lotions and cooling soaks are recommended during the healing process, and sunscreen should be worn at all times to keep the skin healthy and well-protected.

Most patients achieve noticeable results after just one treatment, with skin looking and feeling softer, smoother and tighter. Results are visible immediately after the procedure, and are usually long-lasting, although patients will not be immune to further skin changes caused by aging or personal care.

Fraxel®

Fraxel | Upland | Rancho CucamongaFraxel® is a unique noninvasive laser therapy designed to dramatically improve skin texture and pigmentation, including the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, surgical scars, and sun damage. Fraxel® utilizes fractional resurfacing technology, where only a small fraction of the skin receives the laser light. The treatment delivers a series of microscopic laser spots, while simultaneously preserving areas of unaffected, healthy skin. The healthy cells in the untouched spots promote rapid healing of the entire area, resulting in faster recovery time and minimal side effects.

Fraxel laser treatments can be performed right in your doctor's office and, in most cases, using only topical anesthesia. After cleansing the skin, an FDA-certified blue tint is applied, followed by the anesthetic ointment. The blue tint darkens the tiny folds of the skin surface to increase contrast. This allows the robotic hand piece to map the contours of the treatment area as it glides across the skin, applying the laser treatment. The blue tint and anesthetic are washed off immediately after treatment.

A Fraxel® treatment will typically take approximately 20-40 minutes. Though treatment plans are flexible, clinical studies suggest that an effective treatment plan is four to six sessions spaced about five to seven days apart. Each session targets about 12-20% of the skin's surface, depending on the clinical parameters selected. Results are immediate and progressive, with optimal improvement usually visible in about two to three months and gradual improvement for up to a year.
